Know Your Computer Checklist
- Identify elements of the desktop and describe properties
- Identify the operating system version
- Identify the amount of RAM available
- Identify/access local hard drive, DVD or CD-ROM drives, and network drives
- Identify the amount of space available on any storage device
- Start computer and peripheral devices
- Restart computer (warm boot) and force quit an application
- Select a network printer
- Use controls (clock; desktop; monitor, sound and mouse settings)
- Find a file on local drives
- Make alias or shortcut of an existing file and move to desktop
- Get information or determine properties of a file
- Create, name and move a new folder
- Log on to a network and protection software, if present
- Move, copy, rename and delete a file or a folder
- Open, close, move, minimize, maximize and resize windows; use scrollbars
- Manipulate window views (by icon, list and other attributes)
- Identify filename extensions for WP, SS, DB, Web and other documents
- Use special menus (Taskbar, Start)
- Quit out of applications, logout and shutdown correctly

Easy Test Maker – is a free online test generator to help you create your tests. With Easy Test Maker you can create multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, short answer and true and false questions all on the same test. You can also insert instructions and divide your test into multiple sections.
Zoomerang Surveys – this is the free version. You can have up to 30 questions per survey using multiple pages. You can create survey questions and answers in almost any language. Reporting on a maximum of 100 responses per survey and the survey data is only stored for ten days after your survey is posted. There is limited analysis capability.
DiscoverySchool.com – this quiz center is the most flexible and comprehensive quiz-making application on the Web and it’s free. All you have to do is join My discovery and set up a Custom Classroom.

Hot Potatoes – this site includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is not freeware, but it is free of charge for those working for publicly-funded non-profit-making educational institutions, who make their pages available on the web.
